I find this to be fabulous in something warm… either warm water or sometimes I have mixed it in warm almond milk at night. Its my kind of version of a hot toddy!
Many people underestimate the importance of sleep and the effects poor sleep quality or quantity have on our health. In this study it was noted that quality of life and memory of was affected in adults and associations were made with risk taking behaviors in teenagers. Long term consequences were related to high blood pressure, cholesterol, increased weight gain, diabetes, and cancer. Women experienced an increase in the incidence of heart attack and men experienced higher death rates.
Sufficient, high quality, restful sleep… we need it, our health depends on it.
5 grams hops flowers
5 grams Valerian root
5 grams California poppy herb
5 grams balm herb
100 milliliters brandy
2 tablespoons raw honey
Grind the herbs and put in a tall glass jar. Add brandy and raw honey. Stir well. Cover with a lid and let sit for 2 weeks. Strain and put in a dark bottle, label, and store in a cabinet.
How to Use: Teens and Adults: Take 1 teaspoon 30 minutes before bedtime. Can be taken in hot water, or straight off the spoon.
